The word hypnosis is derived from the Greek word hypnos, meaning sleep, and learning while in a somnambulant state is a technique that has apparently helped millions of people around the world to lose weight, quit smoking and overcome diverse challenges both mental and physical. TLAPP quotes "Rounders" movie star Matt Damon, who has some resonance as a poker player, but used hypnosis to quit smoking, as supporting the concept along with various athletes who have used hypnosis to improve their performance.
